An educational, nonfiction picture book about the life and achievements of Wangari Maathai. Born in Nyeri, Kenya, Wangari Maathai was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004 for her efforts in sustainable preservation, particularly through the Green Belt Movement—an environmental conservation organization she founded in 1977.
